CCD is a semiconductor device that is able to capture light and convert it into digital signal. The tiny light sensitive material that is planted in CCD is called pixel. The more pixels contained, the higher resolution can CCD display. The activity of CCD is similar to film, the difference is it can convert image pixel into digital signal. There is plenty of electric capacity put in straight order on CCD device, which can sense and capture light and turn it into digital signal. Controlled by the external electric circuit, every electric capacity is able to pass its own electric change to the neigh boring electric capacity.

BLC (Back Light Compensation)



One common phenomenon in the application of CCTV system is strong light behind the target object. For instance, a man standing before an ATM machine or he is entering from outdoor. If without BLC, these targets will just show dark outline. BLC technology enable cameras to find the best lighting condition of shooting an image and provide appropriate back light compensation. Thus users can better recognized in effect with intense light behind it. BLC technology is constrained in effect for a certain area, while WDR technology doesn’t have this limitation.


Pixel is the abbreviation for "Picture Element". The pixel is the smallest addressable screen element that can be drawn by electric signal that is passing through the system. The pixel quantity of an entire image represents the total amount of detailed information, while the geometrical characteristic of its orizontal and vertical length show the resolution for details of the raster.


Sensitivity is referred to the view capture ability for a camera under a specific light exposure intensity, which is signified by Lux. In general, the sensitivity of a CCD camera can act as a standard for its working under low light illumination circumstance.

The detailed process ability of a camera is in close relationship to whether it can attain effective evidence. The test of resolution is accomplished by a diagram of a bunch of concentrated lines. The resolution rate is divided on these concentrated lines. The lines over a certain resolution will not be seen. Resolution is represented in TV lines, the higher the resolution, the clearer the images can a camera produce.

This technology enables cameras to attain bright image in dark area, while makes no affect in the bright area which will be over saturated in normal condition. Thanks to the help of WDR technology, cameras can attain true color image at any place which surpass BLC Technology. The image appeared is the combination of two parts one image comes from high speed shutter exposure under low light area. This ensure clear image in extreme high-contrast lighting environments.

AGC (Automatic Gain Control)



All of the cameras have video amplifiers which are able to amplify the output signal from CCD to an appropriate level to fit for a range of input signal levels, and the amplified volume is called gain. Appropriate choosing AGC on or AGC off will increase the working illumination of cameras, which is called dynamic range. AGC function will enhance the sensitivity for cameras under low light illumination, but the signal noise is unavoidable.




Cameras may not provide clear image because of limited light sensed by CCD under low light illumination. Sense-UP technology will help reduce the refresh rate of picture frame under low light circumstance, which will prolong exposure time for every frame to increase the sensibility of cameras under low light circumstance. But if at the same time there is fast moving object in the detect zone, interlaced image is not avoidable.

DNR (Dolby Noise Reduction)



In order to increase the visible quality of image, cameras will need to turn on AGC under low light illumination, which will add signal noise to the image. And DNR function makes enormous achievement in decreasing signal noise of image. With this technology, image is more vivid & clear as the signal noise on image is greatly diminished and even invisible. DNR technology brings perfect sensibility for low light circumstance and extraordinary high quality image.

In order to attain true color image at daytime, the IR filter function is turned on. It can filter out infrared spectrum from visible light and maintain true color. At night time, the IR filter function is turned off, which will help camera to be more sensitive to light. Application of IR lighting device will achieve better image effect.


Within all the broadcast television system, the adjustment of Y is accomplished in the camera. Usually, the display effects will be varied in different display devices. The adjustment of gamma rate is corresponding to different display devices. Gamma Rate 0.45 is suitable for CRT monitor, while gamma 0.6 is fit for LCD monitor.

Black level function can improve the quality of image. The main principle is it firstly disclose the decibel of “light black” part from the light signal. Then compare this decibel with hidden decibel. If it is not up to hidden decibel, then it is extended to black decibel. If it is hitting the hidden decibel, then it stops extension. This can turn the “light black” into “deep black”. The extension of black level will only change the “light black” decibel of the light signal, but without change of the white decibel, Y/C signal ratio.


This function ensures privacy of certain area, which can be covered and unseen by outsiders.

This privacy zone can be set at any area. For Instance, area no need for surveillance or users private areas.


In case cameras can’t be installed on the horizontal level, this function enables correct position of video in monitor via horizontal mirror or vertical flip of image.


Y/Pb/Pr adopts standard of EIA-770.2a, which separate the transmission of light signal and color signal and at the same time retain the largest bandwidth of color transmission channel. Y/Pb/Pr is designed for use in analog systems. The standard of connectors that can be used on Y/Pb/Pr which supports analog HD signal are coax cable, BNC port or RCA port.


Based on image recognition technology, Auto Tracking function includes auto searching and tracking moving object. High speed dome with auto tracing function is able to auto tracking and zoom in moving object which is inside the detect zones. When there are several moving objects inside the detect zone, the speed dome will automatically recognize and enlarge the angle of lens to the biggest level, at the same time, it will take priority to track the fastest or the biggest moving target. This is widely applied in significant areas such as treasure house, arsenal, power station, materiel warehouse, etc.


RS-485 is a telecommunication standard that is authorized in 1980s, which has been in popularity as standard communication port in industrial world. Rs485 is strong resistant to interference, has diversified way to connection and has long communication distance. It is mainly applied to the connection of keyboard controller, dome cameras, speed domes and other devices with Rs485 port in the surveillance system.


Dual power camera accepts optional inputs power either 24V AC or 12V DC, which can be automatically recognized and selected according to the power it receive.


Full HD refers to display resolution up to 1920x1080 (including 1080i and 1080P). ‘‘I’’ means interlace scanning, while ‘’P’’ means progressing scanning. These two scanning ways vary a lot in the fine quality of video. The video quality of 1080P is better than 1080i. We call 720 as standard-definition. Apparently, as there contains greater amount of data information during transmission process, 1080 is higher in resolution and presents high definition video.


The full name of HDMI is “ High Definition Multimedia Interface”. HDMI port is able to provide data transmission bandwidth that is up to 5Gbps. It can carry uncompressed audio data as well as high resolution video data. At the same time, it doesn’t require transfer or digital and analog signal before transmission. It can also transmit digital audio signal. HDMI supports 5Gbps data transmission rate, with transmission distance of 15 meters, which is enough to transmit 1 channel 1080P video signal and support 8 channel audio data.


SDI stands for “ Serial Digital Interface”. It can transmit data over and ordinary 75ohms coax cable. The transmission distance is 120-400m. HD-SDI is able to carry 1080i signal, while the latest version 3G-SDI even can carry 1080P signal.
